Human Care:  Director Joyce Blatner

To provide HUMAN CARE for God’s family at Grace, including our friends and neighbors, with their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs wherever we find them.

Wow what a promise this is! At Grace, human care is a work in progress. Pastor Lingsch and our Visitation Pastor (Rev Jim Dishop retired), make every effort to visit the sick while they are in the hospital. We also visit our shut-ins at least once a month and bring them the Lord’s Supper.

Along with visitation there are other human care events, such as fellowship activities, the Oktoberfest, church potlucks and picnics. We plan educational seminars. We have Hymn Sings and Concerts at Grace. We have trips for all ages off our campus as well.

We are examining the possibility of bringing on a new staff member to help us with human care. We have talked about a Parish Nurse, or a Deaconess. We are also considering a Vicar, which is a student pastor who would be here to learn and to put his talents into practice.

This is a huge area of ministry at Grace and we are certainly working to make it better. Come join in!
